KWESI PRATT JR FINALLY REACTS AND PREDICTS THE OUTCOME OF MAHAMA’S SUPREME COURT PETITION
It has been a longstanding battle of confusion between the opposition National Democratic Congress, the ruling New Patriotic Party and the under pressure Electoral Commission. The NDC have accused the EC of conducting a flawed elections and connivance with the NPP to rig the elections. The leader and flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama has finally filed a petition at the Supreme Court to challenge the declaration by the EC. Mahama seems optimistic to gain justice with his evidence backing his allegations of electoral fraud against the EC.
The renowned Journalist and Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Mr. Kwesi Pratt was interviewed alongside Comrade Murtala Mohammed and Elvis Botah on Good Morning Africa show hosted by Kwame Owusu Danso. It was a heated discussion as Kwesi Pratt reacted and predicted the outcome of Mahama's petition to the Supreme Court over the 2020 elections.
Kwesi Pratt has been one of the active political activists who have been raised numerous concerns about the just ended elections. He has lambasted the Jean Mensah-led outfit for committing some avoidable yet unpardonable mistakes in the declaration. He is on record to have jumped to the defense of Mahama over his position on the elections and his calls for independent forensic audit.
Kwesi Pratt speaking the issue, indicated that Mahama has every reason to challenge the results based on his claims and suspicions of rigging. He has also registered his displeasure over the media outright attention on some clerical errors in the petition than focusing on what is actually contained in the document. According to Kwesi Pratt, they are simple imposition and does not change the substance of the petition.
Speaking further, he called for non-partisan behaviour to be exhibited in settling the case. Explaining the rationale of his assertion, he indicated that any manipulation in favour of one candidate could plunge the country into disastrous consequences which is not expected.
"The NPP have also raised claims that it was not satisfied with the results in some 7 constituencies. And the results of 7 constituencies can change the tally. This means each of them has a problem with the declaration. It seems everybody needs peace in the country and we must get it."
"The judges themselves and the entire Ghanaians ought to display a certain level of maturity and honesty. The outcome should become what all of us will be looking for at this time. This is because any attempt to manipulate the process in favor of anybody and so on can lead to disastrous consequences for our country and we can avoid that. Any useless and baseless partisan interests should not be displayed at this point. I am optimistic that the right outcome will be determined by the Court."
