1D1F: EACH DISTRICT HAS A FACTORY UNDER ID1F PROGRAMME – COORDINATOR
According to the Coordinator for the 1D1F, each district has a factory under 1D1F Program.
1D1F was an initiative of the administration of Akufo-Addo as part of its attempts to transform the Ghanaian economy from a value-added through exports.
The government was flacely accused of failing to ensure all the districts had their facilities by critics, mainly the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Conference(NDC).
However, Mrs. Ohene-Konadu clarified that “so many banks came to support this government initiative immediately after this policy was announced”.
These revelations were made public by the coordinator through an interview monitored by hypeghnewsroom.
“We’ve been sitting down on this with the banks. We advise one banker to work with the private sector investor, and then, when you have a successful business plan.
We will also look into it and the banks will provide you with the requisite financing.
“They will look further and analyze your business plan and see if it’s a good one before they go.
Moving on she added, “I always say I’m not happy to talk about numbers because we always say that they’re at different levels.”
“Every district has business plans here if you look at business schemes with me, but they are all different.
So I will say each district has a factory under ID1F Program”, she added.
“The Ekumfi Factory is going to be commissioned. It’s already begun production but we’ll order it.
“These factories have been encouraged by government. We have waived taxes and offered tax-free holidays for all the machines that are imported into the country.
