IT’S IMPOSSIBLE FOR FOOTBALL TO RETURN IN OCTOBER - GFA MEDICAL COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN
Ghana football association medical committee boss Dr Adam Baba says It’s not possible for Ghana premier league together with the Division one to commence in October.
According to the medical expert, it will take up to six weeks for football to practically return.
”It is impossible to start the league in October from my point of view. If the government said go ahead, you can start but we cannot start in October,” Dr. Adam Baba told KUMASI FM 104.1MHZ.
”There’s no team that can tell you that it has started preparation. We need a minimum of four to six weeks for the clubs, they need to purchase new players and start preseason training which cannot be done in three weeks.
”Practically, we give ourselves four to six weeks from the time we’ve been asked to start so the earliest we might start in November.”
The first gentleman of the land, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo in his 17th Covid-19 address to the nation revealed after a broad consultation with the Ghana Football Association and other stakeholders, the ban on football has been lifted.
