TRUMP LOSES THE COURT’S DECISION TO QUASH THE TAX RECORDS AND SUBPOENA

A federal judge has dismissed the effort by President Donald Trump to quash a subpoena for his tax returns as part of an investigation into hush payments to women alleging affairs that Trump has long denied.

The Office of the Manhattan District Attorney had subpoenaed Trump’s accounting firm, Mazars, to make personal and business tax returns worth eight years.

According to recent court filings, the investigation is probing into bank and tax fraud.

Trump had contended against the subpoena that he has immunity, but the U.S. In June, the Supreme Court ruled that he was not subject to State criminal investigations.

Asked at an Oval Office photo op on Thursday about the ruling, Trump said, “we will probably end up back at the Supreme Court,” dismissing the legal battle as an extension of what he believes to be a political “witch hunt.”

“What the Supreme Court did is say, if it is a fishing expedition, you — my interpretation is basically that you do not have to do it. So, we are probably going to end up back in the Supreme Court,” he said.

“This is a continuation of the most hideous witch in our country’s history. That is what it is. A fishing expedition has been claimed by the Supreme Court. It is the biggest fishing expedition.
No one has anything. We are not doing things wrong, “said Trump. “This is an embarrassment to me. That should never be allowed to happen again.
