THE REAL REASON BEHIND MZBEL’S ARREST REVEALED

Ghanaian singer Mzbel was arrested on 24th August 2020 over allegations she made during an interview earlier this month.

There were reports that Mzbel was arrested based on the allegation she made concerning Stacy Amoateng’s HIV status.

According to Mzbel, Prophet Nigel Gaisie told her that Stacy Amoateng is HIV positive and came to him for prayers.


DSP Juliana Obeng who is the Public Relations Officer of the Police CID in an interview on Neat FM explained the circumstances leading to Mzbel’s arrest.

She indicated that Stacy Amoateng officially petitioned the Director of CID to investigate allegations Mzbel made about her.

DSP Juliana Obeng further disclosed that Mzbel was cautioned on Publication of false news under Section 208 of the Criminal and other Offences Act adding that the singer reported to the Police on her own accord prior to her arrest.
