ARREST VICE PRESIDENT DR. BAWUMIA MAHAMUDU NOW - SOME GHANAIANS DEMAND

Report gathered has it that some Ghanaians are calling for the arrest of Vice President(VP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over what is allegedly described as a crime for the possession of dual citizenship despite occupying such position.


According to those calling for the arrest of the Vice President, it is a crime for a person in his position to hold dual citizenship, thus Ghanaian and British.

In furtherance, they argued that, according to the 1992 constitution of the Republic of Ghana, it is unlawful to be a citizen of another country whilst holding some key positions like the Vice President of the country.

It is alleged that, the Vice President married a British woman in December 1989 making it easier for him to naturalize as a British, report stated.

However, no one is really sure if Dr. Bawumia has denounced his British citizenship or still holding onto the two, Ghanaian and British whilst serving the country as the Vice President.
