The Director-General Ghana Health Service,Patrick Kuma Aboagye has given the latest update on Ghana’s covid-19 cases as he delivers his bi-weekly speech on Thursday, July 9,2020.
According to him,Ghana has totally recorded 23,463 cases since the spike of the deadly virus from March 2020 till date.
Giving more details,he started that Greater Accra, Ashanti, Western and Central are now the four main hotspot regions of the viral virus as the four regions in total have recorded a total of 897 cases out of the 16 regions. Mind you we recently reported that these four regions could go on partial lockdown base on the current situation.
He further stated that out of the 23,463 cases recorded,18,622 persons have been discharged. So far per our statistics, the country still have 4,717 active cases where as 26 are in severe condition leaving 8 in critical situation. Six are said to be on ventilators. So far, 129 persons have died from the virus.
Dr Kuma-Aboagye was concerned that many are not taking the safety protocols seriously, cautioning that prevention must be at all times.
