BEAUTICIANS ARE NOT ‘ASHAWO ’, BLAME PARENTS FOR POOR PARENTAL CARE – COSMETOLOGIST

It has been a say among the people of Ghana that beauticians are the most fornicators especially, among those in apprenticeship.

Addressing the issue by Miss Western’s contestant, Veronica Baffoe who’s a beautician, it is not in the right direction for someone to come into conclusion that beauticians involve themselves most in fornication automatically.

According to Vero, it’s obvious, that most children who are undergoing hairdressing go into dating and it’s by the influence of poor parental care.


“The parents should be held responsible because they don’t cater for children who are into apprenticeship but rather see it keen to look over those in Secondary Schools and others so for the child to also survives then she goes for a boyfriend to help her cater for herself.

Using myself as an example, I completed Junior High School when I was 15 years of age, because of financial crises, I wasn’t able to proceed to Senior High School thou I was brilliant. My parents took me into hairdressing, but they never catered for me, so I needed to struggle for survival which wasn’t an easy task for me.

In this regard, I will urge every parent to take care of children who undergo into vocational training such as hairdressing, dressmaking etc. since they are can also make an impact on life. ”

Brief History

Veronica Baffoe is a 29-year-old woman who lives in Assorko / Essaman in the Shama District of Western Region in Ghana. She completed Assorko Asaman Junior High School in 2006 and entered into hairdressing in 2007 and graduated in 2011 as a beautician. She offered Cosmetology for six months with 2nd Image Vocational Training College in Accra. Veronica Baffoe currently runs her beautician saloon with apprentices of which 3 of them are training for free.

Veronica Baffoe contested for Miss Shama in 2009 of which she positioned 4th in the contest. She again engaged in 2019’s competition and became the 1st Runner Up.
