    OVER 100 GHANAIANS IDENTIFIED WITH CORONAVIRUS SYMPTOMS AFTER 24HR LAUNCH OF THE COVID-19 APP TRACKER – COMMUNICATIONS MINISTER INDICATES






    Minister for communication, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has said in a press briefing organized by the Ministry of Information that over 100 Ghanains have been identified of experiencing symptoms related to coronavirus after 24hr launch of the COVID-19 app tracker.

    According to her, over 16,000 Ghanaians have downloaded the application on Chrome. To her, the information submitted by those who have downloaded the app and access, reveals that over 100 persons may be going through some health problems related to coronavirus.
    The GH COVID-19 Tracker App was launched yesterday by Vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to enable individuals access and provide basic information to contact tracers, facilitate easy tracing, testing and treatment.
    The Tracker will also aid health authorities to identify high risk communities and prioritise contact tracing and testing.

    The App will be available on App stores later this week.
    Speaking to reasons for the launch of the COVID-19 tracker, the Vice president said government is bent on devising strategies and procedures that can help fight the deadly disease and the launch of the app is crucial to the fight against coronavirus pandemic in the country.
